CEMENT MASONS AND CONCRETE FINISHERS

DESCRIPTION:

Cement masons and concrete finishers smooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete, such as floors, walks, sidewalks, roads, or curbs using a variety of hand and power tools; they align forms for sidewalks, curbs, or gutters; patch voids; use saws to cut expansion joints.

SKILLS:

Cement masons and concrete finishers must have a strong knowledge of building and construction materials, methods and tools involved in construction; they must know how to select the right tools and equipment to do the job; know how to monitor and assess others and use mathematics to solve problems. They must have the ability to manipulate and and assemble objects, and coordinate two or more limbs while sitting, standing or lying down.
